INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN THEORIES H.O.K.I.E.S.
The developed instructional tool H.O.K.I.E.S. (Home Of Knowledge in Expert Scholarship) puts the learners in an authentic situation through the virtual experience of being a graduate student. The project provides an example of applying instructional design theories to teach about professional research practices and conventions.
In this project we had to use a combination of instructional design theories for introducing Ethics & Integrity conventions to newly enrolled students at the university. I designed and prototyped an online game-based approach for teaching research conventions, which inspired the final product developed by the Graduate School.
